Heavy rainfall hit the island of Symi yesterday, causing temporary problems on roads and in low-lying areas. As shown in the video by Symi TV, large volumes of water flowed forcefully through the streets, turning them briefly into streams.
Traffic was disrupted in several areas, especially during the peak of the rainfall, while water carried soil and debris along the road network. Despite the intensity of the weather conditions, no serious damage to homes or businesses was reported, and there were no injuries.
As the rain gradually subsided, the situation improved and water levels receded relatively quickly. Local authorities remained on alert and monitored the development of the weather phenomenon.

The incident serves as a reminder that extreme weather events can cause short-term disruptions, even on small islands like Symi, but fortunately in this case, without serious consequences.
