Before Easter of 2010, the youth of the village took the initiative to change their surroundings. Armed with paints and brushes, they set out to bring color to every corner of their village, from the walls to the abandoned buildings. With the help of artist and architect Loukas Nikolitsis, the young people of Fanes worked tirelessly to bring their vision to life. In just 12 days, 72 houses were painted, and the village was transformed into a living and spontaneous painting.

The entire village was involved in the creative process, with people of all ages contributing in any way they could. From painting the walls to preparing traditional pastries and baked goods, the residents of Fanes came together in a unique creative frenzy. The result of their hard work was not just a beautiful and colorful village, but also a strengthened community.
