Rhodes among the 100 best city destinations in the world

The island of Rhodes among the world's top 100 destinations according to a report published this week by UK-based market research firm Euromonitor International.

Euromonitor International's Top 100 City Destinations Index 2022 reveals the top performing cities for economic and business activity, with thriving tourism infrastructure and performances that show great potential for investment and operation amid increasing digitalisation, technological progress and sustainability developments.

Paris has been named the world’s top city destination, according to a study that rates cities in terms of tourism, sustainability and economic performance.

Paris ranks first for the second consecutive year in Euromonitor International’s Top 100 City Destinations ranking, which was derived from a comparison of 57 metrics across six “key pillars” – economic and business performance, tourism performance, tourism infrastructure, tourism policy and attractiveness , health and safety and sustainability. The annual report, published in partnership with data intelligence company Transparent Intelligence, ranks Dubai second, followed by Amsterdam (third) and Madrid (fourth).

The rest of the top ten includes Rome (5th), London (6th), Munich (7th), Berlin (8th), Barcelona (9th) and New York (10th).

Other notable results include Los Angeles being the second best city in America (14th on the list), Sydney only coming in 32nd but ahead of Melbourne (34th), and Edinburgh coming 54th, as opposed to Time Out presenting it as the best city in the world for 2022.

As far as Greece is concerned, in the top 100, apart from Athens, there are Rhodes, Heraklion and Thessaloniki.
