Profylia Village, Rhodes

Profylia is a traditional village of southern Rhodes built on the slope of Mount Gerakas at an altitude of 382 meters above sea level. Administratively, it belongs to the Municipality of Rhodes and is approximately 77 km (via a new road) or 84 km (via an old road) from the center of the island's capital.

The village is a pole of attraction mainly for excursionists looking for contact with nature, as it has a rich flora and fauna. Its pine forests are home to the Dama dama deer , better known as the "platoon of Rhodes". This area is protected by the European Network " Natura 2000 ".

The village has several churches, such as Archangel Michael and Agios Georgios, the construction of which dates back to the 16th century. In the center of the village is the church dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, from the north side of whose courtyard one can enjoy the view of the mountainous relief of Attavyros that opens to the horizon.
