Kalavarda is a small town in the island of Rhodes, Greece with a population of about 502. It's about 28 kilometers from the island's capital, Rhodes, and about 52 Kilometers from the city Lindos.
The agricultural village of Kalavarda is noted for the sunset views from its pebble-and-sand beach, also popular with kitesurfers due to its offshore winds. Along with beach shacks and casual al fresco tavernas, a few simple guesthouses and vacation apartments dot the area. The Valley of the Butterflies nature reserve, the ruins of Ancient Kamiros, and hiking trails on forested Mount Profitis Ilias are all nearby.
