The agricultural village of Pilonas sits in the Mamari Mountains, surrounded by olive groves. It’s noted for Agios Gerasimos Church, restored after an earthquake in 1926, with an elegant arcade and an interior covered in Byzantine-style frescoes. There are ruins of subterranean Mycenaean tombs at nearby Aspropilia, while the family-friendly beaches of Vlycha and dining spots of Lindos are a short drive away.
